Subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts seeks documents from January 2000 to the present relating to the company’s quarterly calculations of the “average manufacturer price,” or AMP, and “best price” for Protonix.Madison-based Wyeth (NYSE: WYE) said Monday it has received a subpoena from the U.S. Attorney”s Office in Massachusetts requesting documents related to the pricing of its Protonix heartburn tablets and intravenous products.In its annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Wyeth said the subpoena seeks documents from January 2000 to the present relating to the company”s quarterly calculations of the “average manufacturer price,” or AMP, and “best price” for Protonix. The filing did not say when the company received the subpoena.Wyeth said it believes other pharmaceutical companies have received similar subpoenas related to the same issue over the last few weeks. The filing did not indicate what the company plans to do in response to the subpoena.Protonix had sales of $1.6 billion in 2004.At the close of trading, Wyeth shares were up $0.27 to $41.27.
