4 restaurants in NJ named best places for a date by OpenTable

Four restaurants in New Jersey made OpenTable’s 2021 list of 100 Best Restaurants for a Date nationwide, released Oct. 25.

Auburn Road Vineyard & Winery in Swedesboro, The Edge Restaurant & Bar in Jackson, Iron Whale in Asbury Park, and Ventanas at the Modern in Fort Lee made the list of places to woo a significant other—or a could-it-be significant other.

Auburn Road, which nabbed the honor of Best Overall in New Jersey Suburbs, is noted for its outdoor dining, scenic view, and wine list.

One review of The Edge praised its food, service, drinks and ambiance, noting that the “physical layout of this establishment is outstanding with the different levels and types of tables, and a nice bar area.”

Iron Whale is recognized for its outdoor dining, scenic view, and suitability for groups; and Ventanas nabbed an award for Most Booked in North Jersey, with recognition of its vibrant bar scene and suitability for special and romantic occasions.

Celebrity Chef David Burke is the executive chef at Ventanas, and Duran said his dishes add to the setting.

“They are not only delicious using the finest products but their presentations are dramatic and at times fun and whimsical, very Instagramable. We get a lot of our new guests by referrals from others who have experienced a date or double date here. From the moment of their arrival in exotic cars, a great dinner and then some dancing, Ventanas aims to make each guest feel like a super star,” Duran said.

The OpenTable list was released in partnership with dating app Bumble.
