Freshpet Inc. is making a big move. Advance Realty Investors broke ground July 25 in Bedminster on a new, build-to-suit – and pet friendly – headquarters for the pet food maker.

Having outgrown its Secaucus office, Freshpet will occupy a 30,000-square-foot, eco-friendly office building that includes a dog park and doggy day care. The move is also significant for Bedminster and the larger Somerset County area. In addition to the new office building, 20,000 square feet of retail and dining space will anchor the evolving Bedminster Village Square.

Advance also has its headquarters at the campus located along Route 206. Executives from the privately owned real estate development, investment and management company; Freshpet; Bedminster Township Mayor Larry Jacobs and Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson were among the dignitaries on hand to celebrate the milestone.

Scheduled for completion in early 2025, the move will make room for the growing company. “Freshpet is flourishing … and this is an embodiment of that,” Freshpet CEO Billy Cyr said during his remarks, adding that the company has consistently grown by 25% for 23 consecutive quarters.

The new space will have capacity for approximately 100 employees. The Freshpet team highlighted the accessibility of the area – including the convenience if offers to the company’s Bethlehem, Pa., manufacturing facility.

“While the office market continues to navigate its recovery, this project reflects the importance of offering locations in areas with convenient access to modern amenities and services,” said Advance Realty Investors Chief Investment Officer Alex Cocoziello. “Through our redevelopment efforts, we are creating an environment that aligns with the needs of today’s workforce, helping to attract top talent and appeal to leading companies like Freshpet.”
