  • The Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine officially welcomed the latest cohort of promising medical students at its White Coat Ceremony, held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark July 15. The 162 incoming students making up the 2026 Cohort put on the white coat symbolizing their journey toward their medical degrees, which they will work toward over the next four years or an accelerated three-year track. - PROVIDED BY HACKENSACK MERIDIAN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
  • Doherty Enterprises Inc., a franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar, announced the completion of a comprehensive remodel of its Applebee’s restaurant in Garfield. The refreshed restaurant features contemporary lighting, upgraded booth and bar seating, and neighborhood-inspired murals designed to celebrate the spirit of the Garfield community. Doherty hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 15 with company executives, local elected officials and community leaders.   • Monmouth County celebrated its America's 250th Anniversary Gala at Bell Works Holmdel at the end of June. The evening brought together community officials and residents to celebrate the birth of the nation with cocktails, dinner, live music and dancing. All proceeds from the event benefited the Friends of the Monmouth County Parks to support the preservation and enhancement of Monmouth County’s park system. - PROVIDED BELL WORKS
  • The Union County Improvement Authority celebrated the reopening of Green Lane Park July 9 following the completion of a $3.6 million renovation. The work transformed the 5-acre park into a modern, accessible destination for recreation, nature and community gathering. Community members joined UCIA officials, state Sen. Joseph Cryan, and other local leaders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of the project. Green Lane Park also features a variety of new amenities, including: a nature-based playground, agility trail, swing seating, interpretive signage, pollinator shade garden, sculpture garden, natural boulder seating, a tree bench and community art display. - PROVIDED BY UNION COUNTY IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY
  • Morristown Municipal Airport (KMMU), operated by DM Airports Ltd. on behalf of the Town of Morristown, served as host for the third annual Northeast Chapter Leadership Symposium of the American Association of Airport Executives. The event was held from June 16–18 at the Hyatt House Morristown in Morristown. The Symposium brought together approximately 20 emerging aviation professionals from across the Northeast region for an intensive leadership development program. - PROVIDED BY MORRISTOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
  • Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s 38th Annual Golf & Pickleball Classic presented by The Morris Family Foundation & Edgewood Properties raised $662,300 to support patient-centered cancer care services at the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center. RWJUH is an RWJBarnabas Health facility. Top sponsors for the event held July 8 at the Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, which celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center’s opening, included: Overall Sponsor, The Morris Family Foundation & Edgewood Properties; Title Sponsor, Jingoli; and Diamond Sponsors, New Brunswick Development Corp. and the Wm.
