E-commerce giant Amazon continues to grow its innovative primary care model across New Jersey through a partnership Hackensack Meridian Health.

After launching the state’s first Amazon One Medical locations last year in Edgewater and Jersey City, the partners recently added an office in Englewood.

Located at 18 W. Palisade Ave., Amazon One Medical offers same- and next-day appointment availability for patients ages 18 and up, as well as on-site lab services.

In addition to offering preventative care, the 4,120-square-foot clinic provides physical exams, women’s healthcare and mental health services.

It also has has 24/7 virtual care services through its mobile app. That access allows members to:

• Get fast care for common concerns such as allergies, skin issues and urinary tract infections
• Easily access medical records, renew prescriptions and securely message their care team

After acquiring primary care chain One Medical in 2023 for $3.9 billion, Amazon has grown the business into a network of more than 240 clinics across 20-plus markets.

Just a few of the systems that Amazon One Medical has affiliations with include Mount Sinai in New York, Montefiore Health System in New York, Mass General Brigham in Massachusetts and MedStar Health in Washington, D.C.

Creating easy access for patients

By teaming up with HMH, Amazon One Medical aims to connect patients to New Jersey’s largest and most integrated healthcare network.

HMH Chief Executive Officer Robert Garrett said, “Too many patients do not have a primary care physician, nearly a third of patients. We want to make it easier for patients to keep up to date on their health screenings and be proactive about their health.”

“The Englewood Amazon One Medical Office with Hackensack Meridian Health, and the others throughout the state are expanding access to care, and allow for seamless integration for patients into our health network for advanced care when needed,” he said.

Amazon One Medical New Jersey District Medical Director Marina Klimasiewfski commented, “We’re excited to open our doors in Englewood and to bring our relationship-based primary care model to more residents across Bergen County.

She went on, “The response to our first two New Jersey offices has been incredibly positive, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to continue growing our partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health. We look forward to opening our Hoboken location this summer and serving even more communities throughout the region.”

Patients do not need to be Amazon Prime members to join One Medical.

According to the provider, there are two pricing tiers: $99 per year for Prime members and $199 per year for non-Prime members. Membership includes access to virtual care and the company’s digital healthcare platform, while most in-person visits and scheduled remote visits are billed through accepted insurance plans.
