American Dream is launching a new initiative to thank Transportation Security Administration agents for their efforts to keep travel moving.
Between April 20–24, the Meadowlands megamall will honor frontline security workers by offering a complimentary four-pack of tickets to either Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park or DreamWorks Water Park.
According to American Dream, TSA agents from regional airports across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania can redeem tickets through AFGE Local 2222.
The initiative comes as morale among the TSA’s roughly 60,000 officers nationwide has declined amid the ongoing federal government shutdown. After working for an extended period without pay, TSA agents are left contending with rising absenteeism, staffing disruptions and longer-than-usual security lines at airports.
Most TSA workers did receive retroactive pay after an executive order directed the Department of Homeland Security to issue compensation for missed pay periods. However, the pay situation is not permanently fixed because the shutdown is still unresolved.
American Dream CEO Don Ghermezian commented, “We owe an incredible debt of gratitude to TSA agents. Every day, they show up to protect millions of travelers—often without recognition, and at times under incredibly difficult circumstances. Many have made real personal sacrifices, even working without pay, to keep the rest of us safe. That kind of commitment defines true service.”

Ghermezian went on to say the mall is happy to welcome TSA agents and their families “for a well-deserved moment of joy” and recognize workers as the latest “Heroes of the Dream.”
Through that ongoing effort, American Dream showcases “individuals and groups who demonstrate exceptional service and dedication to their communities.”
“American Dream celebrates those who go above and beyond in support of others—bringing moments of appreciation, visibility, and joy to the people who make a meaningful difference every day,” according to the mall.
During TSA Appreciation Days, the water park will extend its hours until 8 p.m. and the theme park will stay open until 10 p.m., American Dream said.
DreamWorks Water Park’s lineup includes the world’s largest indoor wave pool, an expansive splash play area as well as appearances from beloved DreamWorks characters.
As the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere, Nickelodeon Universe features record-breaking roller coasters, family-friendly attractions and character experiences with favorites like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants and PAW Patrol pups.
