Asbury Park Brewery kicked off the unofficial start of summer in a brand-new space.

Located at 614 Cookman Ave., the 3,180-square-foot brewery and taproom is now open daily, offering 12 beers on tap, growler and crowler fills, takeout can sales and merchandise.

Founded by local musicians and beer enthusiasts, Asbury Park Brewery made its debut in 2016 at 810 Sewell Ave. The location reportedly closed its tasting room in March 2020.

Commenting on the May 24 grand reopening in downtown Asbury Park, founder Bob McLynn said, “It’s been a grind the last few years trying to get this new space open. We can’t wait to welcome back our old friends who used to come to punk shows at the old space along with everyone hitting us up on social media waiting for this place to open.”

McLynn added that also has “some great new beers in the tanks” that’ll be available soon.

The beer selection at the new location includes year-round, seasonal and new releases. Customers can also bring in food from outside restaurants to pair with their drinks, according to the brewery.

In addition to hosting live music performances in the tasting room, the venue is available for private event bookings, the brewery said.

Something to see while you sip

The space also includes an art installation in the tasting room from local artist Porkchop that features a collage of posters, photos and concert tickets of famous acts who have performed in Asbury Park. The area behind the bar boasts a wall filled with over 8,000 vinyl albums from a variety of musicians.

Additionally, there’s a glass wall separating the tasting room from the brewery, which allows patrons to see the brewing process.

Asbury Park Brewery has a history of partnering with local and national musicians playing in the area including The Front Bottoms, Jack Antonoff and Panic! At The Disco on limited-edition beer releases and says its working on several new collaborations.
