Eye health products company Bausch + Lomb is teaming up with Walmart to host eye care clinics at dozens of the retailer’s stores nationwide.
“Eye Care for My Care” aims to help educate shoppers on the importance of eye care. The events will run throughout the month of May (Healthy Vision Month).
As part of the program, attendees will be offered free samples of Bausch + Lomb‘s over-the-counter product samples and educational materials, according to Walmart.
A spokesperson for the Bentonville, Ark.-based big box chain said Walmart will present the events at about 40 locations nationwide. Within New Jersey, “Eye Care for My Care” took place May 9 at Walmart in Hamilton Township.
The initiative follows efforts by Walmart to upgrade its in-store vision centers into state-of-the-art facilities. The locations offer eye exams, prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses as well as repairs and frame adjustments. Additionally, they feature an assortment of over-the-counter eye care products, fashionable eyewear and contact lenses at affordable prices.
Bausch + Lomb has its headquarters in Ontario with corporate offices in Bridgewater. The company’s portfolio includes contact lenses, dry eye relief and surgical products.
Innovations in 170-year-old Bausch + Lomb’s pipeline include a biomimetic contact lens, a myopia control solution for children and revamped pharmaceutical products targeting unmet eye health needs.
