Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is the latest local health care system to implement Epic, the world’s leading electronic health record platform.
According to an early September announcement from the Bergen County health provider, the move is part of a long-term commitment to delivering equitable, connected and patient-centered care.
Bergen New Bridge in Paramus is the largest hospital and licensed nursing home in the state. The key public safety-net facility serves a diverse and medically complex regional population. According to the organization, it touches more than 1 million lives each year.
Adopting Epic will streamline operations, enhance clinical decision-making and improve the patient experience across its acute, behavioral health, long-term care and ambulatory settings.

According to Bergen New Bridge, implementation will take 18 months; a go-live date is set for early 2027. The provider said it will share additional details as they become available.
“This is more than a technology upgrade – it’s a fundamental transformation in how we deliver care,” said Bergen New Bridge Medical Center President and CEO Deborah Visconi. “With Epic, we are strengthening the continuity of care, expanding health equity, and empowering both patients and clinicians with tools that make health care more human, personalized and accessible.”
The integration enables more seamless information sharing for patients receiving care across multiple systems. It also aligns Bergen New Bridge with other top systems nationwide already using Epic.
“Bergen New Bridge has an inspiring vision for using technology to advance community-wide health,” said Epic Vice President Leela Vaughn.
According to the software provider, more than 325 million patients have a current EHR in its system.
KLAS Research has ranked Epic No. 1 in the U.S. for 15 years. Additionally, more than 73,000 hospitals and clinics utilize the programs.
