CoreWeave is expanding its relationship with OpenAI – announcing a $6.5 billion agreement Sept. 25.
In March, the two companies came to an initial agreement, valued at up to $11.9 billion. Under it, Livingston-based CoreWeave will power the training of OpenAI‘s most advanced next-generation models.
This latest expansion comes on the heels of another in May worth up to $4 billion. It brings CoreWeave’s total contract value with OpenAI to nearly $22.4 billion.
“We are proud to expand our relationship with OpenAI, a company consistently at the forefront of advancing artificial intelligence,” said Michael Intrator, co-founder, chairman and CEO of CoreWeave.
Peter Hoeschele is vice president of infrastructure and industrial compute for OpenAI. He said CoreWeave has become an important partner in the company’s broader infrastructure platform.
“By delivering compute at unmatched speed and scale, they’re helping us advance the frontier of intelligence and ensure AI‘s benefits reach everyone,” said Hoeschele.
Intrator added, “This milestone affirms the trust that world-leading innovators have in CoreWeave’s ability to power the most demanding inference and training workloads at an unmatched pace.”
The deal comes on the heels of a slew of notable developments for the Jersey company, which NJBIZ reported on. They include further investment in the United Kingdom, the launch of CoreWeave Ventures and more.
