The unit will provide construction management and contracting services for FNRP in addition to third-party clients.

According to Tobiasz, RWC brings a different perspective to projects.

“[W]e think like owners because we are owners,” he said in a statement. “We view projects from the client’s perspective and align our thought process with their goals to deliver a world-class project. In addition, we can provide a seamless platform of construction management and general contracting that will allow superior value-add building for our clients by pursuing their vision and managing project costs and schedule through all facets of the construction process.”

According to FNRP, the combined service model will allow the company to more efficiently execute activities at its own properties, the number of which is expanding nationwide, while also tapping into offsite tenant needs.

By serving third-party customers in addition to its own properties, R. Weber Construction allows FNRP to deliver for tenants in different ways, according to the company: like providing construction services programs for fit-outs at locations outside of its growing portfolio.

These days, that stretches as far west as California, to multiple sites in the Southeast, and the Midwest.

Chief Operating Officer Kurt Padavano said the move to establish RWC was a natural one, given the increased demand for construction management services. He described Tobiasz as “uniquely qualified” to lay the foundation for the segment.

“Brian is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in ground-up development and redevelopment in the retail, office, industrial and residential sectors,” Padavano. “His track record of success working with real estate owners and developers, coupled with his operations and management expertise, makes him uniquely qualified to build the RWC team, processes and brand into a national platform, and infuse it with the ‘Treat It Like You Own It’ mindset that is central to FNRP’s company culture.”

According to FNRP, Tobiasz has worked in the tri-state area as both a general contractor and owners representative throughout his career, rising through the ranks in the industry to assume leadership positions in addition to establishing his own construction management company. That firm, Tobiasz Management, was later absorbed by national commercial real estate brokerage services firm Newmark (then Newmark Grubb Knight Frank ) in 2016.
