Retro-themed quick-service chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has opened its fifth New Jersey restaurant.

The location at 2418 Route 1 in North Brunswick celebrated its grand opening July 8. The 2,800-square-foot freestanding restaurant offers indoor seating for 67 guests, an outdoor patio and drive-thru service. Mobile ordering through the brand’s app and website is also available.

Freddy’s popular offerings include its signature cooked-to-order steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, shoestring fries and freshly churned frozen custard.

Founded 23 years ago in Wichita, Kan., currently, the franchise has over 530 locations across 36 states. Freddy’s plans to reach 800 units by 2026. It is now targeting key markets that include New Jersey, Washington, Illinois, Iowa and Texas.

Within New Jersey, Freddy’s has launched in Cinnaminson, Linden, Burlington and Toms River over the past three years.

The chain also plans to add four eateries in Monmouth County via a development deal with franchisee Peter Labib. The locations have not yet been announced.

Freddy’s in North Brunswick is open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, as well as 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
