GenScript Biotech Corp. is again expanding its global presence with a new operations site and logistics center in Sydney, Australia.
The Piscataway-headquartered life sciences company announced the move Nov. 11. GenScript said the expansion supports “the rapid growth of the biotechnology sector in Australia” as well as “underscores the company’s determination to strengthen [its] presence in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.”
According to GenScript, the new site will also ensure faster and more efficient delivery of research reagents and products.
“Australian researchers and biotech companies will no longer need to navigate the complexities of permit applications, customs clearance, and tax payments, streamlining the procurement process, and allowing them to focus on advancing their groundbreaking research and innovation,” the company added in a statement.
The Sydney site introduces next-day shipping for high-demand products, such as off-the-shelf mRNA, growth factors, Cas proteins and more, GenScript added.
Sherry Shao, GenScript’s rotating CEO, said the new site expands operations. According to her, it also builds long-term relationships with the region’s biotech ecosystem.
“By removing import barriers and offering next-day delivery on key products, we are helping our customers focus entirely on advancing their research, without the logistical challenges that previously existed,” Shao added.
