Gensler held the top position on the latest NJBIZ compilation of New Jersey’s top architectural firms, ranked by the number of licensed in-state professionals. 

Based in Morristown with 48 licensed architects, Reid Brockmeier and Becky Button lead the firm. Pennington-based HDR ranked No. 2, with 35 architects working under Brian Kowalchuk, James Wisniewski and Eric Jaffe. 

NK Architects PA claimed the third spot. The Morristown firm reported billings of $23.8 million — the second-largest figure on the list — and 28 architects. DMR Architects followed at No. 4 with 27 architects, while Parette Somjen Architects LLC held fifth place with 21. 

Ware Malcomb, ranked 23rd and sharing that position with three other firms, reported billings of $217.3 million — the largest figure provided in the dataset — yet employed only six licensed architects in New Jersey. 

Bloomfield-based AECOM, at No. 16, reported billings of $36.4 million, the third-largest figure, with 10 licensed architects in the state.
