PATH service suspended between Harrison, JSQ this weekend

Attention riders, track construction and repairs will lead to service alterations this weekend.

The announced that due to critical work on PATH tracks, it will suspend service between the and stations in both directions – from 11:59 p.m. Sept. 19 through 5 a.m. Sept. 22.

This marks the second of six weekends this fall with service suspended between Harrison and JSQ, including:

  • Sept. 20–21 11:59 p.m. Friday – 5 a.m. Monday
  • Oct. 4–5, Oct. 25–26 11:59 p.m. Fridays – 5 a.m. Mondays
  • Oct. 11–12, Nov. 1–2 2:30 a.m. Saturdays – 5 a.m. Mondays

During the service outages, PATH will provide free shuttle buses between Harrison and JSQ as well as between Newark-Penn Station and JSQ.

Because of work on PATH tracks, service between the Harrison and Journal Square stations will be suspected in both directions from 11:59 p.m. Sept. 19 through 5 a.m. Sept. 22, 2025.

Key things to know:

  • PATH will use outage periods to install and test four switches to enhance the system
  • PATH service will operate between Newark-Penn Station and Harrison, the JSQ-WTC line, and the JSQ-33 St. via HOB line
  • Weekday service will not be affected
  • Fall weekend outages are scheduled concurrently with existing weekend service adjustments for New Jersey-bound trains on the 33 St-JSQ via HOB line, which began in June
  • Track improvements are part of the Port Authority’s ongoing two-year, $430 million program
