A collection of your photos from the fun, fruitful, charitable, honorable and miscellaneous happenings in the New Jersey business community.

  • Wells Fargo was the official retail banking sponsor for the Toyota HBCU New York Football Classic, which took place Sept. 17 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The game (Morehouse Tigers versus Howard Bison) brought together members from historically Black colleges and universities and the competing schools, highlighting the role of HBCUs in educating aspiring professionals and developing leaders. During the second quarter, Wells Fargo announced $50,000 in scholarships to the competing schools with company leaders presenting $25,000 scholarships to Morehouse College and Howard University in support of school programming. From left, Lennard Long, Dewey Norwood, Rebeca Vargas, Lester Owens, Gigi Dixon, Christy Long and Krissy Moore of Wells Fargo on the field with Morehouse College President David Thomas.
  • Opportunity Project’s 14th Annual Golf Classic at the Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park raised over $303,000 on Sept. 19 – the highest amount fundraised at the Golf Classic to date. Proceeds help fund the state’s first and only free-standing Clubhouse, a place where survivors of traumatic brain injuries can regain independence and attain their individual goals. The Outing was hosted by co-chairs Marc Berson, Jacob Buurma, The Sal Davino Family, Chris Johnson, Murray Kushner, Jared Levine, Dr. Matthew McDonald, Jonathan Sobel and Eileen Sudler. Event sponsors included The Fidelco Group, Fidelity Land Development, Century 21 Construction, Sharp Management, Kushner Real Estate Group, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, RWJBarnabas Health, The David Mandelbaum Family, Kenneth & Claudia Silverman Family Foundation, Sobel Family Foundation and Sudler Family Foundation.
  • Bergen New Bridge Medical Center celebrated its five-year anniversary this month with an event attended by elected officials, dignitaries, hospital leadership and staff, community partners, and others. The center was renamed by the county in 2017 as part of a plan to transform the hospital. An alliance was formed between Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Integrity House and Care Plus NJ Inc. to create Care Plus Bergen Inc., which manages the Medical Center. Celebrating the anniversary from left are, Care Plus Bergen Trustee David Roe, Commissioner Germaine Ortiz, Commissioner Chair Tracy Zur, Care Plus Bergen Trustee Joe Masciandaro, Bergen New Bridge President and CEO Deb Visconi, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, Integrity House Chief Clinical Officer Eman Gibson, Rutgers Assistant Dean for Clinical Strategy & Development Kent Mathisen, and Commissioner Mary Amoroso.
  • On Sept. 9, in tandem with the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey’s Hispanic Entrepreneurship Training Program (HETP) program and the Latina Entrepreneur Training Series Program (LETS), Cross River participated in a business pitch competition for aspiring or current small business owners that completed the programs, with a cash prize of $2,000 and features in the Hispanic Chamber’s media outlets. Out of over 50 entrants, nine finalists were selected, each placing an emphasis on social impact. Competition winner Anna Flores Locke, owner of Charlandra Counseling Services, used the business coaching from the programs to solidify her messaging, which she credits with helping her win the competition. Earlier this year, Cross River partnered with the SHCCNJ to sponsor the HETP as an expansion of its Making Waves initiative.
  • CSL Seqirus, one of the largest suppliers of flu vaccines in the U.S., recently hosted its annual employee flu shot clinic at its headquarters in Summit. Here, CSL Seqirus Vice President, Commercial Operations, North America Dave Ross receives his shot for the 2022/23 season. With trends from the Southern Hemisphere indicating increased flu activity in the U.S., CSL Seqirus says it’s important to get vaccinated. <br />

  • Inroads to Opportunities, a Union County-based human services agency that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities, hosted a Casino Night and Awards Presentation Ceremony Oct. 7 at Elks Lodge in Union to celebrate National Disabilities Employment Month. The night was filled with pride, recognition and awards to those who have made a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, including for this trio, from left: Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Gene Jannotti, who received the Champion of Change Award, and U.S. Rep. Donald Payne Jr., D-10th District, and New Jersey State Ombudsman Paul Aronsohn, who both received the Making Inroads Award.
