South Jersey fast casual dining chain PrimoHoagies is adding some bite to its partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies.
In returning for its second consecutive season as a partner of the MLB team, the Westville-based sandwich eatery launched an express station at Citizens Bank Park just in time for the Phillies’ March 29 home opener against the Atlanta Braves.
Located behind Section 139, PrimoHoagies’ new concession stand serves the brand’s classic Italian hoagies and turkey and cheese hoagies. It also has a catering option available for suites at the ballpark.
According to a company spokesperson, the opening follows a successful first-year partnership that included branded stadium features and promotions. It also marks the return of PrimoHoagies’ food offerings to Citizens Bank Park for the first time since 2017.
Nicholas Papanier Jr., PrimoHoagies president and chief executive officer, said his team is “incredibly excited to bring the PrimoHoagies experience back to Citizens Bank Park.”
“As lifelong Phillies fans ourselves, we understand the importance of tradition and passion in this city. We are thrilled to enhance the game day experience for fans by offering them a taste of Philadelphia right here at the ballpark,” said Papanier.
Known for its specialty sandwiches made with high-quality meats and cheeses piled high on fresh-baked rolls, the 30-year-old Philadelphia-born chain has more than 100 U.S. locations and plans to surpass the 300-mark within the next five years.
At Citizens Bank Park – which was recently ranked as the fourth-best MLB stadium in the country for food by USA Today – PrimoHoagies joins a culinary lineup that includes PJ Whelihan’s, Shake Shack, Uncle Charlie’s Steaks, Manco & Manco Pizza, Federal Donuts & Chicken and Philadelphia Water Ice.
