Former chief of staff to the New Jersey Sara Quigley is taking on a new role with The Cos.

In addition to joining the Stevens & Lee law firm as a shareholder, Quigley will also serve as managing director of the professional services firm’s public affairs affiliate. The company revealed the appointments in a Feb. 24 press release.

A veteran attorney with deep ties to state government, Quigley’s record of public service in New Jersey stretches back to 2013. In addition to executive positions with the AG’s office, Quigley held senior posts with the state’s Division of Criminal Justice and the Appellate Bureau.

As chief of staff to the New Jersey attorney general, Quigley managed a department of more than 8,000 employees. She led policy initiatives in areas such as criminal justice reform and cannabis legal/regulatory enforcement. Quigley also served as the AG’s designee on various commissions and interagency working groups throughout her three-year tenure.

A ‘fantastic resource’ for NJ clients

According to The Stevens & Lee Cos., Quigley will be based in Princeton. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College and law degree from Rutgers Law School, she clerked for retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge Michele Fox in Camden County.

With more than 200 lawyers across 18 offices, Stevens & Lee is among the 250 largest in the U.S. Meanwhile, Stevens & Lee provides New Jersey-focused legislative interaction, governmental process, regulatory affairs and consulting services to a variety of organizations.

Commenting on the hire, Stevens & Lee Public Affairs Senior Managing Director Anthony Cimino said, “Sara is a trusted and proven legal and policy advisor at the highest levels of state government and is an outstanding addition to our team.”

“Her rapid advancement and long tenure in public service, culminating in a senior role in the AG’s office, gives Sara valuable insight into policy and governance. She will be a fantastic resource to our clients doing business today in New Jersey,” he said.
