Shake Shack is preparing to launch its latest restaurant in New Jersey.

Scheduled to open 11 a.m. Sept. 4 at 1449 Route 35 in Middletown, the popular burger chain’s new location will offer dine-in and takeout, as well as pick-up and delivery options via the brand’s mobile app or website.

Known for its made-to-order hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs – in addition to shakes and custard floats – the brand has grown to more than 500 locations nationally and internationally since its founding 20 years ago by restaurateur Danny Meyer.

Within New Jersey, has 22 other restaurants. Recently opened locations include drive-thrus in Freehold and North Brunswick.

In Middletown, Shake Shack is taking over a space left vacant after Moe’s Southwest Grill closed earlier this year. Other tenants at the Brixmor Property Group-owned Middletown Plaza include Dunkin’, Walgreen’s, Trader Joe’s, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Petco and Plato’s Closet.

To celebrate its arrival, Shake Shack plans to give away custom tote bags and stickers to the first wave of guests.

Following its grand opening, Shake Shack will operate Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

In keeping with the company’s larger mission of giving back, Shake Shack said it will donate $1 from every burger or sandwich sold opening day at the Middletown location to JBJ Soul Kitchen, a Red Bank-based nonprofit community restaurant concept developed by rocker Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea.
