Stop & Shop plans to host a one-day hiring fair to fill open positions at its more than 400 supermarkets across the Northeast.

During the event, scheduled for Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., job-seekers can visit any of the Ahold Delhaize USA-owned grocery chain’s stores in New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts for an on-the-spot interview.

In a Feb. 20 press release announcing the event, Stop & Shop said it is hiring for more than 2,800 part-time roles and select full-time positions in e-commerce, bakery, deli, grocery, seafood and product departments. There are also openings on overnight crews as well as for cashiers, baggers, porters, home shoppers, pharmacy and asset protection, according to the company, which has 58 locations across New Jersey.

Those applying for positions as cashiers, baggers, grocery clerks, in the floral department, in the bakery department and in the produce department must be at least 16 years old.

According to Stop & Shop, benefits for associates include competitive pay, paid training, flexible schedules, a company discount on groceries and paid time off. There are also opportunities to advance into management, field support or corporate positions, the chain said.
