In , is underway and attracting renters to a new collection of luxury apartments.

Hartz Mountain Industries’ Fairways at Cranford located at 750 Walnut Ave. offers 250 modern units situated on 13.5 acres with golf course views.

Since leasing launched in December 2024, Hartz has marked significant velocity at the 149,000-square-foot site. As of March, occupancy levels were above 5% with pre-leasing at more than 16%. Move-ins started in February.

Fairways at features one- and two-bedroom apartments with 9-foot ceilings and open floor plans complemented by resort-style amenities. Units incorporate high-end finishes, such as quartz countertops, energy efficient stainless steel appliances and premium features like custom closets.

Hartz noted the community also incorporates sustainable building materials.

“Our goal is to bring a fresh, modern approach to residential living in Cranford,” commented Gus Milano, president and chief operating officer at family-owned and operated Hartz Mountain. “The new development at 750 Walnut Ave. will not only meet the growing demand for housing in the area but also offer a lifestyle that combines comfort, convenience, and community.”

March Construction led construction of the property; Moore and Kafrouni led MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems) and structural engineering. Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners served as project architect.

Each of Fairways at Cranford’s two buildings includes a lobby, ample parking and available EV charging stations, according to Hartz.

Recreation and social spaces are spread throughout the property. Perks include:
  • Landscaped courtyards with grilling stations
  • A resident lounge with dining table and bar seating
  • Theater room
  • Clubrooms with outdoor access
  • Fitness center
  • Coworking spaces and private meeting rooms

Cranford earns a A+ overall grade from Niche, which highlights the municipality as the No. 7 best place to live in Union County. The ratings website highlights the area’s “dense suburban feel” as well as a proliferation of restaurants, coffee shops and parks. It also identifies Cranford as housing many young professionals.

Fairway at Cranford is minutes from both the Garden State Parkway and the Cranford NJ Transit Train Station. The downtown proximate development is also near schools, shopping and entertainment options, such a the Hyatt Hills Golf Complex.

Rents for studios start from $2,525 per month; one bedrooms from $2,625 per month; and two-bedrooms from $3,525 per month.

This latest multifamily addition from Hartz Mountain follows the 2024 debut of an ultra-luxury option on the Weehawken border with Hoboken.

Last fall, Hoboken Point debuted at 50% leased at Lincoln Harbor with a mix of layouts from studios-to-two-bedroom layouts, and 40,000 square feet of amenities.
