Football fans who plan to host a party can expect to pay about the same for their spread as they did last year, according to a new report by the Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute.

Despite rising meat prices, declines in party favorites, like frozen pizza and chips, will help offset the overall cost of hosting a bash, the analysis said. To entertain 10 people, consumers can expect to pay about $139, a 0.1% increase over 2024, said.

For its fourth annual Super Bowl Food Report, Wells Fargo utilized NielsenIQ data to examine the prices of popular game-day ingredients and prepared items. The banking giant found that since individual menu items have fluctuated, consumers “may need to be more thoughtful about their party planning decisions this year.”

Wells Fargo wrote, “This current landscape means party hosts will be challenged to seek a balance between items that are more expensive and those that have dropped in price if they want to control their party budget. So, why isn’t there an overarching, easily understood theme that explains everything? The answer is – this isn’t how the economy works. Consumers are faced with the new challenge of becoming ‘food fluent’ given ongoing price fluctuation.”
