New England fast casual chicken concept Wing It On! signed a lease to bring a second location into New Jersey, the company announced Oct. 20.
The agreement signed with franchisee Jeff Cooper is part of the brand’s larger growth strategy to lock in 25 to 30 additional units by the end of the year in markets across the country.
The new deal, under which a specific location hasn’t been announced, joins an already-open restaurant in Linden.
Cooper said he’s always loved chicken wings and “was looking to take the next step in my professional career and run my own business,” when he “naturally gravitated towards restaurants and chicken concepts.”

“After doing my research, Wing It On! really set themselves apart from the sea of other faces in the category,” said Cooper. “I am so excited to join Wing It On! and expand this exciting brand’s footprint throughout North Jersey, a place that has been lacking standout wing joints.”
In addition to serving up wings and boneless tenders, Wing It On! offers a menu up of hand-crafted crispy chicken sandwiches, sides and customizable seasoned fries. The chain was the official sponsor of the 2021 U.S. Chicken Wing Eating Championship on Sept. 5 held in Buffalo, N.Y.
“This is a tentpole moment for our brand as we expand our presence in New Jersey with a passionate entrepreneur leading the way like Jeff,” said Matt Ensero, chief executive officer and founder of Wing It On!, in a statement. “I can’t wait to introduce our game changing chicken offerings to more North Jersey communities and show them what a real Buffalo-style chicken wings are all about.”
Ensero opened the first Wing It On! in Waterbury, Conn. about 10 years ago.
As the brand continues to expand into key markets, Wing It On! is seeking single-unit and multi-unit owners with a minimum net worth of $400,000 and meet the minimum liquid assets requirement of $100,000.
An approximate opening for the new Wing It On! location has not been announced.
