Bergen Town Center is growing its lineup of dining options.

After making its New Jersey debut earlier this year in Ridgewood and Morristown, Boston-based Tatte Bakery and Café expects to add a location at the Paramus shopping mall. Additional details on when it will open was not immediately available.

Founded by a self-trained pastry chef who grew up in Israel, Tatte’s all-day offerings include breakfast sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, quiche, soups, salads, shakshukas and bowls, as well as a full bakery selection and a seasonal menu with Israeli, Mediterranean and European influences. The fast-casual also serves coffee, espresso, lattes, tea, iced tea and juice.

Since its 2007 launch, the chain has grown to 46 locations along the East Coast.

also recently welcomed Teriyaki One Japanese Grill.

Headquartered in Queens, N.Y., the chain serves teriyaki entrees, bento boxes, sushi and poke bowls made with healthier ingredients and no MSG.

As the exclusive real estate partner for the brand since 2018, Elmwood Park-based has guided Teriyaki One’s strategic rollout across the tri-state area. The chain’s footprint of nearly two dozen locations includes restaurants in East Rutherford, West New York, South Plainfield and Union.

After Paramus, Teriyaki One has a spot in the works at a transit hub in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood, according to RIPCO. Additional outposts are also coming to the Bronx and Brooklyn, the firm said.

RIPCO Executive Managing Director Peter Yoon said, “A catalyst to their growth was their shift from exclusively focusing on grocery anchored centers into urban street retail. Teriyaki One’s rapid growth and strategic shift to franchising highlight its strong market presence and appeal.”

“Teriyaki One’s growth reflects a broader shift in the quick-service restaurant landscape. Originating in food courts, the brand initially benefited from being positioned alongside a critical mass of other fast-casual concepts — a model that continues to shape the QSR industry today. As consumer habits evolve, the market adapts, with fast food brands increasingly clustering together to drive traffic, visibility, and shared momentum,” he said.

More to eat

Considered Urban Edge Properties’ flagship retail destination, Bergen Town Center has a lineup that generates more than 11 million visits annually.

Its dining options includes Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen, Bluestone Lane, Charleys Philly Steaks, Crumbl, First Watch, Olive Garden, Chopt, Dunkin’, Haagen-Dazs, Miller’s Ale House, Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen and Whole Foods Market.
