Family-owned and operated cannabis company Brute’s Roots is expanding its South Jersey footprint with a second dispensary.
The shop located at 2001 S. Delaware St. in Paulsboro is scheduled to open May 2.
The company announced the upcoming launch in an April press release. Brute’s Roots said the dispensary’s proximity to Interstate 295 makes it well positioned to serve both local residents and customers traveling from surrounding areas. The new store is about 15 minutes from the Commodore Barry, Delaware Memorial and Walt Whitman bridges, the announcement noted.
Since its October 2023 debut as the state’s first independently owned adult-use cannabis grower, Brute’s Roots has become known for affordable pricing on in-house products and award-winning strains.
Thanks to a combination of indoor and outdoor growing methods at a 35,000-square-foot cultivation and manufacturing facility in Winslow, Brute’s Roots says it’s able to offer a diverse selection of flower and signature items at competitive prices.
The certified Women Business Enterprise’s lineup includes premium flower, greenhouse grown cannabis, vape cartridges, concentrates and edibles.
In addition to its production site, Brute’s Roots has a retail dispensary on Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township.
Co-owner and President Kelly Gatto commented, “As a registered nurse, it’s important to me that customers feel confident knowing they are purchasing state-regulated, lab-tested cannabis products in a safe and welcoming environment.”
Gatto added that she and co-owner Jim DiNatale are “excited to bring that experience to the Paulsboro community.”
Grand-opening day in Paulsboro will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon. There will also be:
Additionally, Kentucky Derby festivities will take place ahead of the 6:57 p.m. start of the famed horse race at Churchill Downs. Gatto said the dispensary will broadcast the televised sporting event for attendees.
The store will also offer numerous deals on Brute’s Roots-branded products throughout the day, including $1 prerolls, $15 eighths, two for $30 gummies and 40% off vapes while supplies last.
In Paulsboro, Brute’s Roots is taking over unused event space at the rear of Bourbon & Brews restaurant and bar. Both businesses share the building but maintain separate entrances and unrelated ownership, according to hyperlocal news site 42Freeway.com.
Brute’s Roots two dispensaries are open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
