Popular fast casual Mexican chain Bubbakoo’s Burritos is getting ready to unveil its 50th restaurant in New Jersey.
Scheduled to open Dec. 4, the new store at 20-26 Maple Ave. in Fair Lawn is owned and operated by Rubert Nogales, an existing franchisee with the brand who runs a Bubbakoo’s Burritos in Park Ridge.
Commenting on the opening of his second store, Nogales said, “Being part of the Bubbakoo’s family and contributing to its growth across New Jersey is very rewarding.”
“Bubbakoo’s has a passionate fan base that has been unbelievably supportive of my location in Park Ridge and I’m excited to open a new location in Fair Lawn. I’m confident that the Fair Lawn community will welcome us with open arms and that our menu will have something for everyone to enjoy,” he said.
Founded 15 years ago in Point Pleasant, the chain is known for its fresh, made-to-order burritos, tacos, quesadillas and bowls, all of which are customizable with over a dozen protein options.
The brand – which now has over 100 locations across 16 states – recently ranked as No. 238 on Entrepreneur’s top 500 franchises list, rising nearly 100 places from last year. Besides being its highest ranking for the recognition, it’s the company’s third consecutive year being named.
Paul Altero, co-founder of Bubbakoo’s Burritos, said he was thrilled to launch another location in New Jersey.
In a statement he said, “New Jersey’s love for the Bubbakoo’s brand is strong and it’s always a joy for us to continue opening restaurants in new communities across the state. We’re glad to be expanding alongside Rubert.”
The chain expects to soon add a restaurant in Newark at 48 New St., though it has not yet announced a timeline for opening.
