Campbell Soup Co. recently unveiled a new batch of limited-edition products.

Legend Edition

Days after Jason Kelce announced plans to retire from the Philadelphia Eagles after 13 seasons, Campbell’s Chunky soup brand is paying tribute to the NFL football star with a special honor.

In a March 7 social media post, the Camden-based soup and snack giant said, “An incredible career deserves a one-of-a-kind celebration. In honor of Jason Kelce, we created our first-ever Legend Edition can.”

Through March 28, fans 18 years and older can enter to win one of 620 collectible cans – a nod to Kelce’s jersey number, 62 – featuring his likeness and autograph. No purchase is necessary. Campbells said it will announce winners April 2.

Also in recognition of Kelce’s jersey number, Campbell plans to contribute $62,000 to his nonprofit, (Be)Philly. The two-year-old organization seeks to improve outcomes for kids in Philadelphia public schools.

In a statement, Kelce said he was honored that the brand created the limited-edition can to celebrate him and his football career.

“And, as an added bonus to this awesome can, it means a lot that Chunky is also donating to (Be)Philly, a charity I founded and have put a lot of heart into.”

Following a March 4 press conference in which Kelce announced his retirement decision, Campbell posted a slideshow showcasing his “amazing career” and “incredible legacy.”

The company and the Kelce family teamed up before. In August 2023, Jason and Travis Kelce’s sibling rivalry took center stage in a pair of commercials for Chunky featuring their mother, Donna.

Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

In advance of National Grilled Cheese Day on April 12, Campbell is gearing up to celebrate the classic combo with the release of a special-edition soup.

Campbell's described its new Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup as a fusion of its iconic tomato soup with the flavors of a grilled cheese sandwich.

In a March 7 press release, Campbell announced its first-ever Grilled Cheese & Tomato soup. The company described the small batch release as a fusion of its iconic tomato soup with the flavors of a grilled cheese sandwich. For a more robust tomato taste, prepare the soup with water, Campbell said, or with milk for a cheesier taste.

The soup should hit select grocery stores soon. However, Campbell is giving away 412 cans as part of a promotion. Entries must be submitted by March 20.

Gary Mazur, Campbell’s vice president of soup & broth, commented, “Grilled cheese and tomato soup has always been perfect together. It is a classic pairing for all generations, and it has drawn increasing fandom in recent years. Nothing can top the greatness of a grilled cheese sandwich dunked in Campbell’s Tomato soup. As we developed our first ever limited time only condensed flavor, it was the clear choice.”
