Insomnia Cookies is sweetening up Montclair‘s dessert scene.

Located at 332 Bloomfield Ave., the Philly-born brand offers in-store, pickup and delivery options for its signature warm cookies.

Then-student Seth Berkowitz founded Insomnia Cookies in 2003 at the University of Pennsylvania. The business is known for baking and delivering cookies late into the night.

At its more than 350 locations nationwide, the brand serves a lineup of classic cookie flavors, ice cream, brownies and blondies. It also has a full slate of vegan options and a frequently rotating limited-edition menu.

Within New Jersey, the brand has stores in Cherry Hill, Hoboken, Montclair, New Brunswick, Westfield, Glassboro and Ewing. An outpost is coming this spring to Red Bank, too.

‘Crumb’y town

In Montclair, Insomnia Cookies is located about a half mile from competing chain Chip City Cookies. That New York City-based gourmet cookie concept opened three years ago on Church Street.

In addition to serving customers in-store, Chip City Cookies also offers delivery of its fresh-baked classic and specialty cookies until 1 a.m.

The township is also home to another brand developed by Chip City co-founder Peter Phillips. Somedays Bakery located at 260 Bellevue Ave. serves premium croissants, soft-serve ice cream and La Colombe coffee.

In Montclair, Insomnia Cookies is open for pickup Sunday noon to 1 a.m., Monday and Tuesday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Wednesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Saturday noon to 3 a.m.

Delivery is available Sunday 12:15 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday and Tuesday 11:15 a.m. to 1 a.m., Wednesday through Friday 11:15 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Saturday 12:15 p.m. to 3 a.m.

To mark its grand opening, Insomnia Cookies will hold an April 11 event. The affair will feature free cookies to all customers who order in-store or for delivery between noon and 3 a.m. No purchase is required.

The store will also give free delivery between April 11 at noon to April 27 at 1 a.m. for orders placed using the code MONTCLAIR.

“The new store will deliver to Insomniacs at Montclair State University and throughout surrounding neighborhoods. Insomnia Cookies looks forward to satisfying the indulgent cravings of Montclair State Red Hawks and Montclair cookie lovers alike with its warm, delicious cookies,” the chain said.
