New York City-based gourmet cookie chain Chip City Cookies is preparing to unveil its fourth shop in New Jersey.
After signing a lease for an 800-square-foot space at Marlton Commons in Marlton, the chain expects to open early next year, according to a brand spokesperson.
Childhood friends Peter Phillips and Teddy Galias founded Chip City seven years ago. The Astoria, Queens-based brand serves up thick, fresh-baked core cookies, such as chocolate chip and cookies & cream. It also offers a rotating menu of specialty flavors, like cannoli and Funfetti, as well as seasonal drinks, coffee and espresso.
Chip City also just unveiled a limited-edition cookie lineup inspired by classic holiday movies show on television network TBS.
According to Chip City, the six-cookie bundle retails for $69.95.
Commenting on the upcoming opening of Chip City’s newest shop in New Jersey, Phillips said, “The excitement that we’ve continued to see across New Jersey, from Hoboken to Montclair to Ridgewood, has been amazing.”
At the Route 70 shopping center, Chip City joins a tenant mix that includes Bank of America, Cava, First Watch, honeygrow, Kohl’s, Mattress Firm, PetSmart, Shake Shack, ShopRite and Wineworks.
The CEO went on, “Marlton Commons is the perfect next stop. It’s a vibrant, fun community that loves great food and gathering with friends and family. We’re excited to bring Chip City here and share our cookies with everyone.”
Montclair is also home to another brand developed by Phillips.
Located at 260 Bellevue Ave., Somedays Bakery serves premium croissants, soft-serve ice cream and La Colombe coffee. The store marks the second franchised site for the two-year-old concept.
