CBRE secured several new leases totaling 47,162 square feet along the Hudson River at Newport Office Center in Jersey City.
The commercial real estate services firm announced the five agreements for the Class A Newport Office Center I and Newport Office Center III office complex May 5. In the largest transaction, new tenant Berkley Insurance took more than 33,000 square feet.
The leasing team included LeFrak‘s Meredith Jackness, Director of Leasing Ray Kawas and Tim Johnson as well as CBRE Vice Chairman Howard Fiddle, Senior Vice President Benjamin Joseph, Executive Vice President Greg Barkan and Vice President Erin Wenzler.
“These recent leasing commitments reinforce Newport as a leading 24/7 mixed-use community, providing world-class working environments, easy access to public transportation, multiple dining & shopping opportunities, and convenient neighborhood amenities” commented Kawas.
Berkley Insurance – 33,843 square feet
The major property and casualty insurer will occupy part of the 9th floor in the 15-story, 620,000-square-foot tower
BPCE Equipment– 6,201 square feet
The deal with the leading provider of industrial equipment financing marks the largest of four leases at this 15-story, 480,000-square-foot property, according to the announcement.

The newest additions join a roster at Newport Office Center that includes Fortune 500 tenants. Highlights at the complex include high-end workspaces, conference facilities and event space, as well as co-location and data center facilities – all in a secure building.
Along with dramatic views of Manhattan, the location offers streamlined access to New York City via the Newport PATH station as well as a walkable connection to Hoboken. Rounding out the area, major retailers, the Newport mall, hotels, residential options and more add appeal.
