A former cabinet liaison for Gov. Phil Murphy and chief of staff for Sen. Troy Singleton, D-7th District, Chebra joined CCSNJ in 2020.

In this new role, she will continue to serve as the organization’s primary lobbyist in Trenton. Chebra’s responsibilities include the planning and execution of CCSNJ’s policy-related events, as well as public policy research reports that focus on the South Jersey business community.

She will continue to report to CCSNJ President and CEO Christina Renna.

Renna lauded Chebra’s work at the organization.

“Throughout her tenure at the CCSNJ, Hilary has taken her vast public sector experience and applied it successfully to assist our members – while never missing an opportunity to embrace and advocate for the issues of import to South Jersey’s private sector,” said Renna in a press release. “This promotion is beyond well-deserved – and we are proud to have Hilary serving in a more prominent policy role with the CCSNJ.”

“I am thrilled to take on the role of Director of Government Affairs,” said Chebra. “This is an incredible opportunity to continue to lead meaningful advocacy efforts, strengthen connections between our business community and government, and champion policies that drive growth and prosperity across the region.”

Chebra said she is confident in CCSNJ’s ability to make a lasting impact.

“And look forward to working with our members to ensure the South Jersey region remains a vibrant place to live, work, and do business.”
