Choose New Jersey sees global surge, $156M impact, 242 jobs

Choose New Jersey is highlighting a busy and fruitful second quarter for the state’s leading business attraction organization.

“New Jersey continues to build a global reputation as the best place in the country to do business,” said Gov. Phil Murphy in an Aug. 6 press release.

Key highlights from Q2 include:

  • A Murphy-led economic mission to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates
    The trip resulted in the advancement of several partnerships, 40 meetings, the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding as well as a $100 million investment by Hotpack to build a new manufacturing site in New Jersey
  • Choose NJ supported 12 companies to expand or relocate in the state from countries around the world and spanning multiple sectors
    Moves created $156 million in and 242 new jobs. Those companies, where they moved from and new locations include:
    • Accurant Biotech China – Princeton
    • Ardena Belgium – Somerset
    • Centennial Maryland – Parsippany
    • Croissance Clinical Research India – Edison
    • Dongwon Industries Korea – Fort Lee
    •  UAE – Edison
    • Lauren Group India – East Brunswick
    • PlantLoop Biotech Canada – East Brunswick
    • SpotitEarly Israel – Englewood
    • Taimei Technology Singapore – Harrison
    • Thomas Brunner Hygiene GmbH Germany – Hoboken
    • YPlasma Spain – Newark
  • had a presence at two high-profile trade shows: the SelectUSA Investment Summit and BIO International Convention
    Launched the 2025 New Jersey Report at BIO International. Study revealed in partnership with JLL, BioNJ, Healthcare Institute of New Jersey and New Jersey Economic Development Authority

Ralph LaRossa, chairman of Choose New Jersey and chair, president and CEO of PSEG, said the accomplishments this quarter reflect the strength of New Jersey’s global appeal. He also noted the momentum that Choose New Jersey is building across key industries.

“Thanks to the hard work of Choose New Jersey, more jobs and innovation are coming to our state, which is helping to grow our economy and reinforce New Jersey’s place on the international stage,” said LaRossa.

“New Jersey’s compelling business ecosystem and quality of life continue to fuel our success in attracting global investment,” said Choose NJ President and CEO Wesley Mathews. “These wins underscore our state’s competitiveness and growing international reach.”
