Cinnaholic, a plant-based bakery known for gourmet cinnamon rolls, brownies and cookies, is celebrating the second anniversary of its Metuchen shop in a very sweet way.
The store at 33 New St. – the brand’s second Cinnaholic currently open in New Jersey – will mark the milestone by selling its signature rolls for $5 apiece. Rolls are usually between $6 and $7.75.
According to the franchise, the promotion is limited to one roll per customer and valid in-store only. It cannot be combined with any other discount or deal.
Rachel Cohen, who owns and operates the location with her brother Danny Cohen, told NJBIZ, “We are delighted to be looking back at the last two years at Cinnaholic and honored to have a community like Metuchen be our local partner in this adventure. As two kids who grew up in East Brunswick, we have had a front-row seat to the revitalization of downtown Metuchen and the eclectic foodie destination it has become.”
At their shop, Rachel Cohen said they wanted to pay homage to famous New Jersey musicians by naming menu items after them.
“A popular hit in our store has been the ‘Can’t Keep My Eyes Off Of You,’ which is a cinnamon roll that has cake batter frosting and topped with homemade cookie dough, Oreo cookies and chocolate sauce and, of course, named after the great Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons,” she said. “Plus, the Jon Bon Jovi, ‘Wanted Dead or Alive,” a cinnamon roll with caramel frosting and topped with homemade peanut butter cups, pretzels and chocolate sauce.”

Rachel Cohen also noted that Cinnaholic is “more than just cinnamon rolls.” The shop also sells:
Cinnaholic also offers seasonal items, like sparkling lemonade, lemon berry coffee cake and hot chocolate.
In addition to pick-up and delivery via third-party providers, the shop offers catering for events of all sizes, including weddings, conferences and conventions.
Since its feature on ABC’s reality series “Shark Tank” in 2014, Cinnaholic has become a popular option when it comes to fresh-baked sweets, offering gourmet cinnamon buns that can be customized with toppings and frostings.
All products are made with high-quality ingredients. They are also 100% vegan-, dairy- and lactose-free; egg-free; cholesterol free and kosher-certified.
After starting the brand 14 years ago as a food truck, California husband-wife team Florian and Shannon Radke decided to move the business into a brick-and-mortar location. Once franchising efforts kicked off in 2014, Cinnaholic grew its footprint to more than 100 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
Within New Jersey, Cinnaholic has bakeries in East Windsor and Metuchen. Stores that launched in Westfield, Sea Girt and Marlton have since closed.
Cinnaholic in Metuchen is open noon to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
