Dave’s Hot Chicken will give away free sliders to mark the birthday of one of its many celebrity investors.

In honor of rap superstar Drake‘s special day, customers can score the freebie between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Oct. 23 by downloading the California-based spicy chicken chain’s app and showing it at the register.

The offer is not available via online ordering or through third-party delivery services and can be redeemed only once, according to Dave’s Hot Chicken.

This year marks the third time Dave’s Hot Chicken is celebrating Drake’s birthday by gifting guests a slider on the house, according to the brand.

Commenting on the promotion, CEO Bill Phelps said, “Each year, millions of fans visit us and post on social media about how Dave’s Hot Chicken blows their mind. We want to continue this tradition of taking care of our fans while celebrating our most famous investor, Drake. We hope everyone both at home and abroad will come out on October 23 for a slider on us.”

Founded eight years ago as a parking lot pop-up in West Hollywood, the brand is known for Nashville-style hot chicken sliders and tenders with adjustable spice levels. It also has sides, such as mac & cheese, kale slaw and cheese fries, as well as hot, crispy cauliflower sliders and cauliflower bites.

Famous faces

Drake became an investor in 2021 after discovering Dave’s Hot Chicken’s catered food at his Billboard Artist of the Decade party. Other celebrity fans that have also signed on as financial backers include Maria Shriver, Michael Strahan and Samuel L. Jackson.

It now has more than 300 locations across the U.S., Canada, Qatar and Dubai. As part of a larger expansion effort, Dave’s Hot Chicken reportedly expects to add another 130 restaurants by the end of 2025, the chain said.

Since making its New Jersey debut three years ago in Wayne, the franchise has added spots in Kearny, Secaucus, Cherry Hill, Ocean Township, East Brunswick, Paramus and Hamilton. Under several multi-unit development deals, Dave’s Hot Chicken expects continued local growth over the next few years.
