Dave’s Hot Chicken is bringing the heat with the launch of its fourth restaurant in New Jersey.

Located at 175 Passaic St. in Kearny, the California-born spicy chicken chain is set to begin welcoming customers Aug. 23.

The upcoming store marks the second of 14 outposts planned by Amit Patel. In December 2023, he opened New Jersey’s first Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurant in Wayne. 

Following its grand opening at Kearny Commons, Dave’s Hot Chicken will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Founded seven years ago as a pop-up in West Hollywood, Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for its chicken tenders and sliders that come in spice levels ranging from “No Spice” to “Reaper.” It also serves sides, like mac & cheese, kale slaw and cheese fries.

With backing from celebrities like Drake, Samuel L. Jackson and Maria Shriver, the franchise has grown to more than 200 spots across the U.S., Canada, Dubai and Qatar.

Within New Jersey, Dave’s Hot Chicken also has restaurants in Cherry Hill and Ocean Township.

According to its website, locations are coming soon to:

• East Brunswick (326 Route 18)
• Secaucus (700 Plaza Drive)
• Union (2401 Route 22)

Patel is also the franchisee for the Secaucus and Union locations, which will open within the next two months.
