Belvidere-based ‘s new line of Pulp sustainable gourmet sauces and chili-based products is now available for purchase online.

The launch of the new e-commerce site, which comes about a year after the hydroponic farming company acquired Pulp for an undisclosed sum, will enhance reach for the brand by allowing consumers nationwide to directly buy the products, Edible Garden CEO Jim Kras said in a Jan. 4 press release.

“This marks a significant step forward for the company as we turn our focus to bringing our Pulp products to customers across the country,” he said.

Made using simple, plant-based ingredients, Pulp was developed and launched by a Kansas farmer and chef with a love of pepper flavors and comes in four varieties: Hungarian wax pepper sauce, Poblano Serrano Jalapeno pepper sauce, Fresno chili pepper sauce and Habanero pepper sauce.

For a limited time, customers who purchase a four-pack of sauces will receive a free Pulp cooler bag with their order, according to Edible Garden.

“We are pleased that our new Pulp Flavors site is now live,” said Kras, adding, “Now, consumers nationwide who value flavorful, sustainable and USDA Organic fermented products can directly buy our ‘Bland to Bold’ Pulp sustainable sauces and personally experience their unique taste.”

Since purchasing Pulp in November 2022, Edible Garden forged retail partnerships bringing the product to shelves at Whole Foods Market stores in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast as well as upscale New York City grocery chain Morton Williams Supermarket.

Kras said, “The company is committed to developing our e-commerce platform including robust media support as a key part of our strategy to expand the Pulp product line and enhance the Edible Garden brand.”

He also believes it will open up a new revenue channel for Edible Garden, a nine-year-old company known for its locally grown, sustainable lettuce, organic herbs, hydro basil, salad kits and protein powders.
