In addition to welcoming new tenants, Westfield Garden State Plaza is rolling out a range of community events for the summer.

Through Aug. 17, the mall will offer a free workout series in partnership with TNT Training, a Paramus-based gym specializing in sports performance training and wellness programs.

Held Sundays from 11–11:45 a.m. at Garden Social, the shopping center’s indoor lawn area, “Get Movin’” includes high-energy cardio, HIIT, strength and chair fitness classes that are suitable for a range of ages and fitness levels.

Sessions include:

  • Daddy & Son Strength & Conditioning Class
  • Get Moving Chair Fitness for Seniors
  • Endurance Athlete Run Club
  • Family Fitness & Cardio
  • Mommy & Me Strength & Conditioning Class

All guests must check in between 10:30 and 11 a.m. to participate, and registration with a signed waiver is required. Click here for a schedule.

Making the most of the blues

Since retail is not allowed Sundays under Bergen County’s Blue Laws, Westfield Garden State Plaza has been trying to make use of the space that day. Earlier this year, the mall successfully hosted its first indoor 5K.

The shopping center’s “Open Sundays” program will also continue through the summer. Weekly experiences for families will include AMC Theatres ticket offers, costumed character meet-and-greets, balloon art, face painting and DJ entertainment in the food court.

Visitors can explore the many immersive attractions that have opened at Westfield Garden State Plaza over the past year-and-a-half, including Planet Playskool, Power Up Arena, Dopamine Land, Pinstripes and The Slimee.

Beyond Sundays, Paramus Public Library will once again bring its summer reading program to the center with a series of educational and imaginative events for kids. For more details, visit the library’s website.

Wesley Rebisz, the shopping center’s senior general manager, shared, “Summer at Westfield Garden State Plaza is all about offering memorable experiences for our community. From enriching activities for kids to new flavors and shopping favorites, we’re thrilled to be a hub for fun, learning, and connection.”
