The retail options at ‘s newly renovated Terminal A continue to grow. 

WH Smith North America, a leading global travel retailer, recently unveiled six new post-security concepts for travelers and employees at the busy airport, including:

  • A Lego store selling a wide assortment of the toy brand’s most popular products, including Duplo, Ninjago and Star Wars;
  • Play the Field, WH Smith’s first sports-themed store, which offers branded merchandise from New York professional teams, including the Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, Knicks and Nets;
  • Just Jersey, an open-air concept that features New Jersey-themed apparel, souvenirs and gifts, along with an assortment of items and consumables from local vendors.

 

WH Smith also added a second New Jersey Monthly newsstand, as well as two more InMotion retail locations, which sell lifestyle products and electronics, including headphones, mobile power sources, Bluetooth speakers and other travel accessories.

With the latest openings, WH Smith has launched 13 stores at the airport since January, giving the company a portfolio of 20 stores at Newark Liberty.

In a statement, WH Smith CEO Toby Keir said, “We are proud to expand our prolific store portfolio at Newark Liberty International Airport and would like to express our gratitude to our wonderful store partners Pady Regnier with Airport Retail Group, Sandy and Terri Roberts with Onsite Retailers, Maurice Ojeda with FAD Marketing & Concessions and Tonja Pastorelle with Pastorelle Marketing Group, as well as the Munich Airport NJ team for their help bringing these unique concepts to fruition.”

The new terminal, which opened in January after its $2.7 billion overhaul, consists of 33 gates serviced by American Airlines, Air Canada, Delta, JetBlue and United Airlines, and can accommodate more than 13 million people each year.

The 1 million-square-foot space also offers state-of-the-art passenger amenities, digital technology, artwork from nearly 30 local artists, as well as dining and retail options provided by regional, national and global brands.
