The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce announced March 13 that its Young Professionals Network set up an inaugural board of directors.

The YP Network operates under the guidance of the Chamber. Established in 2019, the group serves business professionals and corporate leaders between the ages of 21 and 39. It aims to bring together the next generation of business leaders – to network, learn valuable business skills, and provide a positive impact on the business and local communities. They also partner with other young professional organizations throughout the estate on events and volunteer activities.

Caitlin Lopez, the NJ Chamber’s events and communications coordinator, and Amirah Hussain, the NJ Chamber’s director of government relations, spearhead the group.

In establishing its board, the YP Network appointed seven young leaders to serve as inaugural members, including:

  • Kayleen Arguello, business development coordinator, Control Point Associates
  • Chris DeCotiis, business analyst, CGI
  • Scottie Germain, senior professional, Corporate Citizenship, Fiserv
  • Chris Lowicki, community services specialist, NJ Sharing Network
  • Fatema Raza, partner, Withum
  • Christian Vila, traffic engineer, HNTB
  • Rob Vota, assistant general manager & chief revenue officer, Jersey Shore BlueClaws

The board held its first meeting March 5 in Trenton – with a discussion on expanding the reach of the YP Network and elevating its profile.

“Our new board members are quickly rising in their organizations – and they understand the importance of making connections,” said Lopez. “They are passionate about their career, and their passion and excitement will help create top quality events.”

“The Young Professional Board’s mission is to help young people advance their careers, create their own community, and learn from each other,” said Hussain. “I am confident that our appointed board of directors will help guide us to success.”
