An Italian sandwich shop and market created by James Beard Award-nominated chef Robbie Felice is coming to Montclair.
Slated to open in May at 349 Bloomfield Ave., Montclair Hospitality Group concept Fatto Con Amore – which means “made with love” – will use freshly baked breads and meats, artisanal cheeses, vinegars and olive oils imported from Italy.
Besides a range of cold and hot sandwiches, the all-day menu – available until 5 p.m. closing time – features antipasti, balsamic roasted eggplant, broccolini and a salumi board with all the fixings. Breakfast sandwiches – served 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. – include prosciutto egg & cheese panino, porchetta egg & cheese panino and pepperoni egg & cheese.
Catering will also be available, according to Fatto Con Amore.
Meanwhile, the market will offer locally sourced and imported fresh and pantry items, each personally selected by Felice, who is also chef-owner of Viaggio Ristorante in Wayne and Osteria Crescendo in Westwood.
Starting Jan. 24, a limited quantity of 50 sandwiches will be available for order online, according to Fatto Con Amore. Those who redeem the offer can pick up their sandwich Jan. 28 at nearby PastaRamen.

Developed by Felice and MHG, popular restaurant PastaRamen originally launched during the pandemic as an exclusive, invite-only popup in North Jersey. The fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine received such a positive response that MHG gave the restaurant a home last year in Montclair.
In addition to Fatto Con Amore and PastaRamen, Montclair Hospitality Group is the parent company of doughnut concept Mochinut, Asian fusion eatery Ani Ramen House and Thai restaurant Kai Yang.
The upcoming launch of Fatto Con Amore comes about a year after MHG named industry veteran Joey Simons to serve as its new chief executive officer. In addition to leading the group’s business units, Simon oversees development, growth and strategy.
Previously, Simons was chief operating officer of Los Angeles-based SBE, the parent to brands including Umami Burger, Katsuya, Casa Dani and virtual brands such as Krispy Rice and Sam’s Crispy Chicken.
