  • On Feb. 15, Pinstripes Inc. celebrated the debut of its first New Jersey location at Westfield Garden State Plaza - its 16th location nationwide - with a VIP grand opening party. The celebration drew guests, partners and city dignitaries as well as featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Pinstripes’ founder Dale Schwartz and Mayor Christopher DiPiazza. The opening of the Paramus location has brought an estimated 130 new jobs to the area.<br />

  • Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture) Curator Ben Ridings, of Burlington County, is the Cape May MAC Volunteer of the Month for February. He was nominated for volunteering his time for the annual Cape May MAC Online Auction. Ridings portrays Cape May’s Victorian man about town, Dr. Emlen Physick, original owner of Cape May’s 1879 Emlen Physick Estate. He appears at Cape May MAC festivals and events and is a popular living history presenter. The winning bidder will enjoy an hour on the billiards table in the Physick House with “Dr. Physick.” The proceeds will go directly to Physick House Museum restorations.<br />

  • On Feb. 20, the International Franchise Association named Dianne and Gabrielle Melillo, owners of Season 2 Consign in Colts Neck, as 2023 Franchisees of the Year. The Melillo’s were honored at the 64th IFA Annual Convention in Phoenix, Ariz., for being an outstanding franchise establishment owner-operator duo. Founded in 2020, Season 2 Consign is a 100% female-owned non traditional retailer, offering high-quality, authentic luxury handbags and accessories to clients worldwide.<br />

  • On Feb. 9, the North Jersey Industry Partnerships under the auspices of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development held a panel discussion at the Liberty Science Center about career pathways available in the life sciences Industry for high school and college students. Dr. Samira Ziaei, associate professor of biology, pictured third from left, represented Felician University on the panel. According to the school, Ziaei’s participation has opened the door for Felician University to partner with the NJDOL to host future events, including a Life Sciences Job Fair for Veterans and their families to be held on the Rutherford campus April 10.<br />
