  • Executives from Denholtz joined Rahway Mayor Raymond Giacobbe and representatives from the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency to celebrate a 10-year extension of the successful PILOT program at Rahway Plaza. Completed by Denholtz in 1972, the 288-unit high-rise apartment building at 1181 Main St. is a few blocks from downtown. “Our long-standing PILOT agreement with the City of Rahway has enabled us to maintain Rahway Plaza as an affordable housing option for the community for many years,” said Denholtz Chairman Steven Denholtz. “This extension ensures that hundreds of residents will continue to have access to quality, affordable homes just steps from downtown Rahway.” From left, Giacobbe and Denholtz. - PROVIDED BY DENHOLTZ
  • Bergen New Bridge Medical Center cut the ribbon for its new Teen T.H.R.I.V.E. Acute Partial Hospitalization Program Jan. 29. The program serves teens ages 13-17 who need more acute care. The PHP program assists adolescents with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorder and a secondary co-occurring mental health diagnosis. It offers more structure, without requiring participation in inpatient or other residential treatment settings. The PHP program is the only one in Bergen County that accepts Medicaid and Charity Care patients. Transportation is provided to and from the program. Teens in the PHP program attend Monday through Friday for 20 hours of treatment weekly. PHP includes an educational program that teens participate in during the school day. - PROVIDED BY BERGEN NEW BRIDGE MEDICAL CENTER
  • SJI and its subsidiaries, South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas, continued the company’s tradition of honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its eighth annual Day of Service as part of Stockton University’s Annual Day of Service and Jersey Cares. SJI employees participated in community service projects in Galloway, Atlantic City, Hammonton, Woodbine and other areas throughout New Jersey. Activities included making cards and crafts for older adults, school children and community members, as well as distributing food and critical supplies to local organizations. - PROVIDED BY SJI

The group will attend Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, for a one-year, fully funded master's program in global affairs. With more than 5,000 potential candidates, this year's applicant class was the largest in the program's history. At RU–Camden, Martinez was a triple major in political science, philosophy and global studies.
