  • The Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association of the New York Metropolitan Area (IOREBA) gathered Dec. 9, 2024, at the Highlawn in West Orange to kick off the holiday season in style at its annual Holiday Party. IOREBA members and guests came to catch up and discuss the state of the market and cheer the end of a successful year. Upcoming events were also announced, including the annual Developer’s Night, slated for March 31 at the Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck.   • RWJBarnabas Health is once again committed to raising awareness during Human Trafficking Awareness Month this January. RWJBH developed a systemwide Human Trafficking Response Collaborative that is part of a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families Office on Trafficking in Persons. In addition to other partnerships and initiatives, RWJBH hospitals will also be lit up blue throughout the month to raise awareness of Human Trafficking. On Jan. 11, team members wore blue to gather for photos that were shared on social media to observe the National Day of Human Trafficking Awareness.   • From their kids’ St. Patrick’s Day Party to the kids’ New Year’s Eve Party, Shannon Rose Irish Pubs and Restaurants in Clifton and Ramsey host events for families year-round. Through these promotions, Shannon Rose has raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to support kids and families in need. In 2024, they raised over $11,000, which Kohler Beer Distributors matched for a donation of more than $22,000.   • KBC Advisors recently contributed a $50,000 grant to NJ Sharing Network, the federally designated nonprofit organization responsible for saving and enhancing lives through the recovery of donated organs and tissue in the Garden State. As part of its “Big Give” program, KBC awards a $50,000 grant annually to a KBC employee’s charity of choice, selected through an application and committee review process. KBC’s contribution to the Sharing Network Foundation will support clinical advancements, family support initiatives, and public awareness and education about the benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.   • Valley Health System Medical Director of LGBTQ+ Services for Valley Medical Group Dr. Raffaele Bernardo was honored as a New Jersey Fifth District Hometown Hero by U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer with others during a Dec. 16 ceremony. The Fifth District Hometown Heroes Awards are presented to neighbors, business leaders, first responders, teachers, children, seniors, and community leaders to recognize their commitment to bettering the lives of other New Jersey residents and families.
