QuickChek donated $10,000 to support the Boys & Girls Club of Newark‘s mission of promoting healthy development of children and teenagers. The contribution marks a continuing community outreach effort.
A check presentation ceremony recently took place. Ahead of that, team members from the popular Whitehouse Station-based convenience store chain served up a lunch consisting of QuickChek’s new “Subwiches” menu item.
Murphy USA-subsidiary QuickChek is a longtime supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of America. It regularly partners with the nonprofit to raise funds for local clubs. Outreach has included customer round-up campaigns and also donations from store openings.
The latest comes about two months after another high-profile contribution. At that time, QuickChek and New York Giants linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux teamed up to present the chain’s inaugural Field Day event at the Boys & Girls Club in Newark.
Ameer Washington is CEO of the Newark chapter of the Boys & Girls Club. “The support, both financial and nutritional, will make a real difference in helping us to continue providing a safe and uplifting environment where our youth can learn, grow, and thrive. We are so grateful for QuickChek’s ongoing partnership and commitment to our Club,” they shared.
Blake Segal, head of QuickChek, added, “We believe in investing in the communities we serve. Providing financial support and fresh food are two tangible ways we continue to show up and make a positive impact in the lives of these kids and teenagers.”
