Gourmet toast and juice bar concept Toastique is preparing to launch its fourth location in New Jersey.
Planned for late 2024, the fast-casual brand expects to open in Ridgewood at 2-4 Garber Square.
The location is owned and operated by Emil Trione and Laura Trione, a local husband-wife team. For Emil Trione, a retired law enforcement officer, and Laura Trione, who has a background in pharmaceutical sales, the restaurant venture is first for the couple. Along with Ridgewood, they plan to open two more Toastique stores in North Jersey soon.
After discovering the brand in Stone Harbor, the duo fell in love with the food and vibe at Toastique and decided to look into franchising opportunities closer to home.
“Everything tastes as good as it looks, with each menu item full of delicious flavor combinations and healthy ingredients. I’m excited to create an environment where people can experience a feel-good atmosphere while eating fresh, seasonal and responsibly sourced products,” Laura Trione said. “Finding a location in the heart of Ridgewood was crucial for us, and Toastique will enhance the West Side’s vibrancy while retaining the neighborly small-town ambiance.”
Founded six years ago in Washington, D.C., Toastique aims to make healthy eating accessible and simple with its menu of gourmet toast, cold-pressed juice, smoothies, fruit bowls, café-style coffee and nitro cold brew coffee. It also offers grab-and-go items, such as salads.
Since it began franchising in 2019, the company has grown to 30 locations nationwide, including outposts in Hoboken, Stone Harbor and Chatham.
Heading into 2025, Toastique anticipates continued expansion, including the addition stores in New Rochelle and Manhattan, N.Y.
Toastique founder and CEO Brianna Keefe described this year as a “pivotal one” for the brand.
“We experienced the most growth than we have to date, with over 15 new locations by the end of 2024, and the entry into new markets including Wichita, Ann Arbor, Nashville, Austin and Charlotte, to name a few. However, we’re thrilled to further develop our presence in the Tri-State area with these upcoming locations in New York and New Jersey, as it has been a goal market from the beginning,” she said.
Keefe added, “The popularity and reception of Toastique has truly exceeded our expectations, and our growth is really a testament to our team’s passion and dedication. Without them and the loyalty of our guests, none of this would be possible.”
