Topgolf is coming to North Jersey.
The reported $30 million project held a June 5 groundbreaking ceremony in Parsippany. The sports-and-entertainment venue is aiming for a summer 2026 grand opening.
At the three-story, 67,500-square-foot complex along Route 46, Topgolf will offer 102 outdoor climate-controlled hitting bays featuring lounge-type furniture. The suites will also include technology that traces each golfball’s flight path, distance and other metrics.
An additional full-service restaurant and bar and outdoor patio will include 140 high-definition televisions, fire pits and year-round family-friendly programming. The upcoming location will offer private event space and a rooftop terrace for team outings, family gatherings and meetings, too.
Founded in 2000, Dallas-based Topgolf has more than 110 locations across three continents. Within New Jersey, Topgolf opened its first spot nine years ago in Edison and followed it up two years later with a site in Mount Laurel.
Commenting on the brand’s upcoming third in-state venue, Topgolf Chief Development Officer Chris Callaway said, “We’re thrilled to break ground in Parsippany and expand Topgolf’s presence in New Jersey. The venue will offer a new way for locals and visitors to connect, compete, and play with friends and family while experiencing Topgolf’s unique style of modern golf.”
In Parsippany, Topgolf expects to bring between 350 to 400 new jobs to the area. The complex is being built on a Shree Parsippany Developers LLC-owned, 10.55-acre parcel that was previously occupied by the vacant Troy Office Center. Shree acquired the property in 2021 for $10.5 million, according to Patch.
The Daily Record noted that Shree has already bought and redeveloped several other aging Route 46 properties in recent years, including Chick-fil-A (formerly Colony Plaza) and Wonder (formerly Capital One Bank).
The firm’s principal, Dr. Bhagirath Maheta, commented, “Having Topgolf in Parsippany, N.J., will make Parsippany a destination place while creating many jobs and ratables, bringing an economic boost to Parsippany Township. I am happy to bring this vision to my township as a landlord, and I wish Topgolf the best of luck.”
Parsippany Mayor James Barberio remarked, “We are thrilled to welcome Topgolf to Parsippany – a vibrant new destination that brings together friends, families and visitors for fun, food and unforgettable experiences. This premier venue not only enhances our local entertainment offerings but also contributes to the continued growth and energy of our community. The jobs created will have a significant and lasting impact here in Parsippany. We’re proud to have Topgolf call Parsippany home.”
