However, Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac recently shared that Trader Joe’s is slated to take over a former Bed Bath & Beyond store on Route 1 across from Woodbridge Center mall. The mayor did not reveal an exact date for the grand opening but noted that his community “beat out all of our neighboring towns that have been competing to attract it,” MyCentralJersey.com reported.

Founded in 1967, Trader Joe’s is known for its upbeat crew members, friendly customer service, and competitive pricing on a unique variety of seasonal and private-label food items. The brand is especially focused on gourmet, organic and specialty goods, as well as frozen food products.

The company has consistently ranked as one of the best grocery stores – particularly for its customer service and overall quality.

Across the U.S., it has more than 550 stores in 43 states.

After opening 34 locations last year nationwide, Trader Joe’s plans to add “dozens” of additional outposts in 2024, trade publication Progressive Grocer reported.

Upcoming stores include Washington, D.C. (two), California (five), Washington state (two), Tennessee (one), New York (one), Louisiana (one), Maryland (one), Pennsylvania (one) and Alabama (one).

A Trader Joe’s spokesperson told NJBIZ, “We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year.”
