Choose New Jersey announced Aug. 8 that it has hired Tim Crouch to serve as chief strategy officer.
For nearly a decade, Crouch has served in leadership roles at the U.K. Department for International Trade – most recently as director of investment, North America, where he led economic development and investment attraction operations on behalf of the British government in the U.S. and Canada.
In this new role at Choose New Jersey, Crouch will lead the team developing the organization’s strategic plan as part of its continued efforts to attract businesses to the Garden State.
“I am thrilled to welcome Tim Crouch to the Choose New Jersey team as our Chief Strategy Officer and look forward to working with him to expand and strengthen our abilities to share the New Jersey story with businesses around the country and globally,” said Wesley Mathews, president and CEO of Choose New Jersey, in a statement. “Tim’s public policy and strategic planning experience will be an asset to our organization as we advance our mission.”
Crouch says he is excited about joining Choose New Jersey, which he described as an “incredible opportunity.”
“The leadership team has positioned New Jersey as a global competitor in key industries. I look forward to digging in on key issues and big opportunities for the state and leveraging resources and talent in the organization to deliver jobs and growth for New Jersey,” said Crouch. “Having my split my career between the United States and Europe and between the East Coast and West Coast, I hope to bring an exciting new perspective to the brilliant work already being done by the team at Choose New Jersey.”
While the CSO position is not new for Choose New Jersey, Crouch will be the first to serve in the role during Mathews’ term, with the organization noting that the role of the previous CSO was not as broad as Crouch’s is defined to be.
