Asian supermarket chain H Mart is preparing to unveil a revamped store in South Jersey.

As part of an effort aimed at creating a more modern and comfortable shopping experience at its Cherry Hill outpost, the retailer closed the site last June to allow for full-scale renovation.

Scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. April 23, the 39,000-square-foot, two-story supermarket will feature upgraded facilities and an expanded product assortment.

Previously, the 25-year-old store occupied only a lower-level space of the Route 70 shopping center, Courier Post noted.

According to H Mart, the location will include a diverse selection of fresh produce, premium meats, seafood, ready-to-cook meals and everyday essentials.

The chain will also unveil a food hall featuring six Asian-themed eateries and a central seating area.

According to H Mart, the lineup of fast-casual dining options will offer:

• Korean-style Chinese noodle restaurant Kyodong Noodles
• Korean lifestyle food brand Daily Seoul
• Traditional Korean restaurant Mirim
• Korean fried chicken The Dak
• Korean street food brand Dduk Dabang
• Taiwanese bubble tea brand Tiger Sugar

Popular bakery café chain Paris Baguette will also add an outpost at H Mart. An official opening date for that has not yet been announced.

Other shops on site include Nature Collection beauty retailer, KARE Rx Partners and Kiddleton vending machines.

As part of the April 23 grand reopening, H Mart will give free New Jersey and Pennsylvania state bags to customers who spend more than $30. It’ll also offer free gifts to shoppers who spend $50, $100 or $150. The store will run giveaways via its social media channels, as well as provide free foldable bags to all rewards members.

Founded 44 years ago in Queens, N.Y., H Mart sells Asian foods, housewares and essential items, along with a range of Western groceries, locally sourced produce, meat and seafood.

It has since grown from one store to nearly 100 locations across the United States. Besides Cherry Hill, H Mart’s local footprint spans Little Ferry, Paramus, Edison, Fort Lee, Leonia, Ridgefield and East Rutherford.

H Mart President Brian Kwon shared, “We are excited to reopen our newly renovated Cherry Hill location and bring our passion for Asian food culture to the community. We will continue to provide the same shopping experience our customers already love, with the same high-quality food and service.”

He added, “We look forward to welcoming everyone back and sharing our appreciation of Asian food culture with the Cherry Hill community.”
