Trendy tea franchise Heytea is joining the lineup at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus.
Scheduled to open March 5, the shop will serve an assortment of matcha, boba milk tea, fruit tea and classic teas. Following the grand opening, Heytea will have 18 days of specials, offers and giveaways, according to the shopping center.
Founded 14 years ago in China, Heytea aims to reimagine traditional tea culture in a cooler, younger and more global way by turning it into a social media-worthy experience.
Along with its reputation for using real tea, real milk, real sugar and natural ingredients to craft beverages, Heytea is also known for a signature cheese tea. The drink is a fresh tea topped with creamy cheese foam.
Beyond opening over 4,000 shops worldwide, Heytea has earned a massive following online thanks to its modern in-store experience and viral drinks.
After its first U.S. store launched in New York City’s Times Square in late 2023, Heytea’s American footprint has grown to 41 outposts across the country. Within New Jersey, Heytea has locations in East Rutherford (American Dream) and Edison (Festival Plaza).
The menu in Paramus will include cloud mango, grape bloom, supreme brown sugar, bobo milk tea, mulberry strawberry boom, kale boost, triple supreme matcha latte and cloud coconut blue.
Lu Liu, Heytea brand general manager, said, “Our goal is to create a space where tea, creativity, and social connection come together, offering local consumers a unique and inspiring experience.”
“The new Westfield Garden State Plaza location is an exciting step in our East Coast growth, and we look forward to welcoming our new customers,” Liu said.
Heytea joins a range of diverse fast-casual and sit-down Asian food options at the shopping center. Other tenants also include Bao Babies, E.A.K. Ramen, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Dumpling Café and Pokeworks.
Westfield Garden State Plaza Vice President of Center Management Sue Newsom said Heytea’s launch “underscores our commitment to bringing fresh, trend-forward dining and lifestyle experiences to Westfield Garden State Plaza.”
She described Heytea’s “warm atmosphere and unique tea culture” as “the perfect addition to our center.”
